Position Description

The Senior Hedge Fund Accountant is a critical component of the Fund Accounting team and primarily focuses on the analysis and reporting of the Firms’ hedge funds and separately managed accounts.  The Senior Hedge Fund Accountant reviews the integrity of data provided by our external provider, prepares analyses and reports for internal distribution, and is responsible for the reporting of regulatory filings and audits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Confirm the accuracy of the monthly hedge fund net asset valuation reporting providing approval to the Administrator to ensure timely delivery of investor reports
  • Review and approve computations of management and incentive fees and related invoices and wire sheets for fund and separately managed accounts
  • Review and confirm accuracy of fund estimates, general ledger and NAV from the fund administrator 
  • Interpret and conclude upon the application of new accounting standards and pronouncements 
  • Prepare supporting schedules for fund financial statement audit(s) including preparation of financial statements and related footnotes in accordance with GAAP
  • Support the completion of required regulatory filings preparing and confirming accuracy of supporting information
    • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the tax lot holdings and tax classifications by security
    • Review tax withholding schedules to confirm accuracy
    • Coordinate with external tax consultants and ensure timely completion of all tax filings
    • Serve as a technical resource for colleagues as knowledge and experience expands
  • Assist with onboarding new clients, new strategy set up and fund launches 
  • Assist with related duties and projects as needed 

Compensation & Benefits:

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000-$105,000. The final salary within this range will be based on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Total compensation includes the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus plan and a comprehensive benefits program. 

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.  Fund accounting and/or public accounting experience is desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA desired
  • Advent Geneva experience, a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience within a hedge fund or financial services organization, a plus
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule out of our Milwaukee office (in office Tuesday – Thursday, remote Monday / Friday)
