Position Description

The Corporate Controller is responsible for managing the corporate accounting operations of the firm. This key position within our operations team offers high visibility and exposure to complex financial products.   

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxes, cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting, profitability analysis, general accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures to protect the integrity of the firm’s financial records and assets that comply with reporting requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual bonus compensation payments.
  • Assist with acquisition and financing related activities.
  • Provide support and accounting expertise as a trusted resource to the firm, affiliated entities and owner(s).
  • Identify and stay abreast of changes in GAAP that impact the firm’s accounting and reporting, providing real time solutions.
  • Monitor cash balances, capital requirements, and reserves.
  • Perform banking activities including deposits, wires, reconciliations, investigations, etc.
  • Manage all accounting department external service provider relationships of the firm including but not limited to, audit and tax, banking, insurance and accounting software providers.
  • Participation in board meetings and due diligence meetings.
  • Maintain firm’s insurance coverage and manage annual policy renewal processes.
  • Assure timely and accurate preparation of financial information for tax, regulatory and client reporting. Maintain compliance with all tax and regulatory filing deadlines.
  • Assist the bimonthly payroll process by reviewing payroll and benefits changes, 401k contributions and payroll submission for accuracy.
  • Review client due diligence questionnaires, contracts, and regulatory filings providing timely updates as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000-$195,000. The final salary within this range will be based on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Total compensation includes the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus plan and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA designation, and 15+ years of related accounting experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Controller, Director, or CFO.
  • Hedge fund or private equity experience preferred; public accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead and mentor employees.
  • Ability to comprehend client and broker agreements and other legal contracts and documents.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar accounting software.
  • Follow our hybrid work schedule: in-office Tue, Wed, Thu and option to work in-office or work-from-home Mon and Fri.
