Position Description

The Trade Desk Associate position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong technical skills to foster a career in the investment management and trading industry.  The successful candidate will be immersed in learning our sophisticated 24-hour automated trading operations.

 Responsibilities:

  • Monitor trade flow and mitigate trading deltas relative to the model
  • Execute trades as required
  • Troubleshoot trade discrepancies and top day reconciliation with front, middle and back office groups
  • Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal or external resources
  • Understand and become familiar with trading tools/systems used by the trading desk to help resolve issues and make changes as required.
  • Assist all front office groups with ad hoc requests and projects
  • Monitor operational systems
  • Learn Crabel’s operational processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of trading experience in futures, OTC FX, equities, or similar markets 
  • 3+ years of experience with highly automated trade flow
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proven work ethic, assertive and highly motivated.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Intuitive problem-solving, analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A positive and professional attitude in combination with a high level of integrity and ethical standards
  • Willingness and flexibility to cover overnight trading hours
  • Experience working night hours preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in a dynamic, professional trading/execution environment strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of investment instruments, general industry practices, market structures, execution and measurement techniques, regulatory environment and specific securities laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of the context in which trading activity occurs (i.e., favorable, and unfavorable effects of various transactions)
