Position Description

The Hedge Fund Accountant is a critical component of the Accounting team and primarily focuses on the analysis and reporting for our Funds and Managed Accounts. The Fund Accountant reviews the integrity of data both internal and provided by our external provider, prepares analyses and reports for internal distribution, and is responsible for the reporting of regulatory filings and audits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing daily and monthly accounting procedures for private funds and managed accounts, including oversight of cash and position reconciliations, booking income/expense accruals, timely and accurate NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations, financial statement review and calculating management & performance fees
  • Preparing accounting information for regulatory and tax filings
  • Supporting and coordinating tax compliance with external provider
  • Preparing supporting documentation for fund audits
  • Researching internal differences between the accounting and sub ledger systems
  • Functioning as a technical resource for colleagues as knowledge and experience expands
  • Assisting with related duties and projects, as needed

Compensation & Benefits:

The estimated base salary range for this position is $55,000-$80,000. The final salary within this range will be based on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Total compensation includes the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus plan and a comprehensive benefits program. Willing to consider a “senior” level candidate (4-6 years of experience) at a higher salary range.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance plus either a public accounting internship or 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Public accounting experience is highly desired, Big 4 experience is a plus
  • CPA desired
  • Advent Geneva experience is a plus
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule out of our Milwaukee office #LI-Hybrid
